Fella I know, is best mates with a girl. He has liked her for ages and watched on from the sidelines whilst blokes just screw her over. He has said to me many times that he pretty much loves her and wishes she could see it.
Tells me today that he has been on a week away with her and that they got really close ended up.. well you know and now he is all over the place.
I know this guy isn't exactly the casanova type but she came onto him and pretty much blew his mind. The bloke ain't stopped smiling all day.
He asked me for a bit of advice as to what he does now.. I haven't been in the situation before so pretty useless but made me wonder if any of you lovely people have been in the same boat and what happened.

I have just found out my Dad has been having an affair for the last 25 years. He is now trying to convince us that the woman was in actual fact, a 'friend'. And that he has been going round there once or twice a week without my mum knowing about it.
If you are a straight bloke why would you be friends with a woman who you don't fancy at all?

I say that because a best mate to some is seen or feels like family and therefore a stigma is created .

My best mate is my wife, having been best mates for 35 years.
I have to say that I am not surprised that by modern confusions on sexuality with all the nonsense around today. My best advice is if you want a female mate you can always tell the best mates by the fact that after you've had sex you don't want to bundle her out the door as quick as you can...

Your mate sounds like a sap. Either make your move or don't. Why complicate things?
Also if he's "watched from the sidelines" while other supposedly lesser men have been going through her and is still infatuated then he's in for a big shock if he ever shacks up with her.
